KL Design Week: Super Motion. Long story short, the venue is in some isolated place, where we had to walk 15 munutes from KLCC station to the place and also there was no food. There actually was a mamak store behind the building, but if you were a first timer stepping your foot into KL, without the map in your hands, would you actually realise that there is a tiny mamak store behind that huge ass building? Probably not. Okay screw the map also, because the map doesn't state that there is a mamak store. So there.

My one minute review of the whole thing:

Hue Visualab was the opening, I can guess why. Local design company, so it's great in some way. Middle speaker was great, lady sounds arrogant, the other guy was sad. Plus he's an ex-student form ToA, which gave us another shocker.

Hexa Project. Specialising in cute and vector-ish animations. Since they were Japanese, their speech was short. And they had a translator from Malaysia, which to me did a poor job. My guess was either it was his first time, or he had issues with the speaker. Not my cup of tea, but if I were to pick, I liked that one they did for MTV, about the dream and kappa. Couldn't find the video, so here's a screenshot from their official website.




Kobayashi, Tokyo Plastic, Umeric were great. My favourites for that day simply because their speech was great, they made me laugh and that made me not fall asleep, and the presentation. Awesome awesome.

Gotta add some captions for this video. The client gave Kobayashi 3 (let me say it again, THREE) weeks for the whole process; a week to learn the whole 3d program (don't remember what it was called, but I think it's before Maya) and two weeks to complete the advertisement. Rune Entertainment was dry. Introduction was great, just the presentation was boring. Literally, slept till he said 'Okay, and that's it for our presentation...'. The fuck. Enough said.

JL Design. I'm guessing everyone wasn't paying attention because he was right before Koji Morimoto, which was... just sad for him, because even he knew that no one was going to pay attention to him. Overall, his presentation was not bad, it's just depressing when he told us the design market in Taiwan is low. Extremely low.

Koji Morimoto from Studio 4°C. He didn't present, he just showed the animations from his company, which was interesting. I saw fangirls that day. Horror.
